INGREDIENTS:
- Chicken Wings (we used whole wings, approximately 3.5 pounds total)
- Olive Oil
- Heath Riles BBQ Chicken Rub
- Heath Riles BBQ Honey Rub
- Heath Riles BBQ Sweet BBQ Sauce
DIRECTIONS:
- Set up grill for a 2-zone fire. Our goal temperature was 250º-300º.
- Coat chicken wings in olive oil.
- Season chicken wings with Heath Riles BBQ Chicken Rub.
- Season chicken wings with Heath Riles BBQ Honey Rub.
- Put wings on the grill and sprinkle another light coat of Heath Riles BBQ Chicken Rub and Heath Riles BBQ Honey Rub.
- After wings have been cooking for approximately 20 minutes, flip the wings.
- After being on the grill for approximately 35 minutes, our wings were around 170º-175º. Brush the wings with Heath Riles BBQ Sweet BBQ Sauce. Allow sauce to get sticky on the wings.
- Move wings to the cool side of the grill once they are sauced and allow them to get some char on them.
- We took our wings off at an internal temperature of 185º-190º. We had a total cook time of about 45 minutes. 10. ENJOY!
Note : On your cooker, have a hot zone on one side and a warm zone on the other, just in case. Don’t overcook. Keep them on the hot side at 250-275 degrees on direct heat for about 35 minutes. Lift that dome. Move some to the cooler side. Turn your wings on the bottom, then slop on some sauce and don’t be shy. Keep your total cook time at about 45 minutes at 185-190 degrees. Give’m just a little bit of char but not too much.
