The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest!

Join Goldens’ Cast Iron on May 15-18, 2019 held in Tom Lee Park on the banks of the Mississippi River in downtown Memphis, TN!

Recognized by USAToday as the “Most Prestigious Barbecue Contest,” the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is a four-day competition. Nearly 250 teams travel from around the world and across the U.S. to compete for the title of World Champion and a share of the more than $115,000 in prize money. The Contest draws more than 75,000 attendees, including teams from twenty-six states and six countries, from as far away as Japan and the Czech Republic to compete in the championship pork categories of Ribs, Shoulder, and Whole Hog, as well as the ancillary competitions of Hot Wings, Sauce, and “Anything But Pork.” The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest also offers an amateur category, the Patio Porkers, which allows the backyard grillers the opportunity to test their skills against best in barbecue.

Giving Kitchen is excited to announce its first fundraising event in Columbus, the Columbus Chefs Collaborative dinner set for October 14, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Rivermill Event Center. The event will consist of six local chefs collaborating on a “restaurant” for one night only. Stay tuned for this years theme! Guests will experience a cocktail hour, six-course dinner with beer & wine, speakers, which will include Mark Jones, and entertainment.

The night will kick-off at 5:00 p.m. with the Goldens’ Cast Iron Cocktail Hour in the Rivermill Garden where guests will try speciality cocktails and delicious snacks cooked on Golden’s Cast Iron Cooker. After the Golden’s Cast Iron Cooker Cocktail Hour, guests will head inside for a sit-down, six course dinner prepared by six local chefs. Each chef will tackle one course for the night. Uptown Columbus is proud to announce the Goldens Cast Iron Cook-Off coming to RiverFest on May 4th & 5th. This Georgia Barbecue Association sanctioned event will begin Friday, May 4thwith turn in beginning Saturday morning, May 5th.

Events will be held in Woodruff Park and along the RiverWalk in Uptown Columbus and Phenix City, AL Friday, May 4th from 6:00p.m. – 10:30p.m, Saturday, May 5th from 9:00a.m. – until and Sunday, May 6th from 10am- until.

The Pitmaster of each team must be a member of the Georgia Barbecue Association to receive their turn in boxes for the contest. Click here to join the GBA.
